We attended the NM CAP/JROTC Encampment
Banquet at the Kirtland Air Force Base Officer's Club. Jeff had been
helping with the encampment all week, and was required to be there. But at
least it was something to get dressed up for.
I really had fixed my hair for this event,
but - believe it or not - it was hailing when I got there (yes, in New Mexico!),
and I got absolutely drenched! You may notice that there is an umbrella
next to us in the picture. Evidently it couldn't stand the New Mexico
sun. (Its home was the back dash of my car.) Last time I checked it,
it was fine. Friday night it had over half a dozen dime-sized holes in
it. And umbrellas don't generally work too well, anyway, when the rain is
coming at you sideways!
Anyways, it was nice that we have now been together at
least part of the day for more than half our anniversaries. The third one
I was in TX on my way home to WY, on a trip that lasted longer than it should
have because my a/c went out and it was like 113 degrees in Texas that week and
I got SICK! And for our fourth anniversary he was in Georgia and I
was in Wyoming (partying at karaoke night at C.B. Potts with Stephanie, Cassie,
and a bunch of other people).
