LSMSA Class of 1991's 10 Year Reunion - page 1

On the way in from Albuquerque, I stopped to see Roomie #3 at work in Houston.  (I was also in Houston to pick up Jeffy at the airport, but that was my secondary objective. :)   Roomie heads up the Child Life office at Texas Childrens' Hospital.
We all had lunch together at some BBQ place that I don't remember the name of.

It was a HOT drive!  between Houston and Natchitoches, but the scenery was beautiful.  Jeff and I were the first of our group to arrive in Natchitoches.
Simeon and Ann arrived next.  I had been looking forward to meeting Ann for a long time.  They have been dating for almost a year, you know.
Jeff did not believe Ann actually existed, and Jeff being Jeff, he actually said this to her face.  She pointed out that he had no way of knowing whether she really WAS Ann or if Sim was just paying her to be there for the weekend.  Well, whoever she was, I rather enjoyed her company and her sense of humor!

Roomie # 1 and Ron arroved next.   If you don't know who Ron is, well, I'm sorry, but I don't think he wants me to tell you.  You'll have to wait and see.  Suffice it to say that although he didn't attend the school himself, he has LOTS of giftie friends, and none of them expected to see him here.  I think he rather enjoyed confusing the heck out of them.

Dr. Barbarian (as in Ebarb The) was kind enough to let us into the dance studio.  I wanted Sim to see how beautiful it was now.  They knocked out the wall and put in a sprung floor.  Unfortunately, since last summer they had put that nasty black plasticy protective stuff on the floor.  (The name of it escapes me at the moment.  But I'm dancing on it  now in my Modern class at UNM, and it is TEARING UP my poor feet!)  But otherwise... I'm very jealous they did not do this back when we were there!
Sim and I are standing where the wall used to be.

At the graduation ceremony, they had a very nice tribute to Dr. Richard Brown, who passed away last December.  I bawled like a baby.  He was a very special man.  Jeff and I had talked to him at the reunion last year, and he still remembered both of our names.
Dr. Brown's  picture hangs in NSU's Praether Coliseum.  He used to be a basketball star.

We left the graduation ceremony early (not by my choice, I might add!), only to find that Sim's car was blocked in by some inconsiderate driver-wannabe who doesn't know how to park between the lines.  Luckily there was space wide enough to escape between the car at 12:00 and the car at 10:00.  The only problem was, we had to pick up and pivot Sim's car to be able to get into that space.  (This is a staged recreation.  Nobody could take a pic of the actual thing, because we were all 4 lifting the car!)
