My News
You might visit this page and wonder why it takes me so long to update it. Those of you who know me know that the real answer is: I am a professional procrastinator. However, I can make up excuses with the best of them. Some of my latest ones include:
- Hosting IACE Cadets - New Mexico Wing Civil
Air Patrol will be hosting cadets from three countries in this year's International
Air Cadet Exchange from 7-21 to 7-31. We get the 2 Aussies.
:)
- Being HAPPILY MARRIED -- for 6 years (as of 7-21) to the love of my life, Jeff
- Trying to get organized -- I am pleased to report that I have made much
more progress in this endeavor than I expected to the since the last time I
updated this web page. I VERY HIGHLY recommend the FlyLady.
- My new job -- I'm a "Staff Scientist II" for Applied
Research Associates.
- My old job, as the occasion arises -- creating Flash movies to go with the sermons for Alpha Church's website.
- Adjusting to my new medication -- Dr. Assad
has put me back on the Glucophage (XR
this time) for my PCOS. Last time it definitely
made me ovulate. Hopefully it will again.
- Trying to get pregnant -- those of you who know me well know that this has
been a goal of mine for nearly 6 years now. (And for those of you
who don't know, I succeeded once, in March, but I had a miscarriage early
on. But I wasn't on the Glucophage at the time, so I'm taking it as a
sign that it's gonna happen soon.)
- Playing drums at church -- I play at the 5:00 p.m. Saturday Mass for my
church, St. Joseph's on the Rio Grande. Our church belongs to the Archdiocese
of Santa Fe.
- Going back to school and learning C++ at the University of New Mexico.
I'll be taking CS 215 in the fall.
- Taking a dance class -- I'm once again enrolled in Modern II at UNM.
I'm learning a lot about my body and how it is supposed to move (and how all
those years I was in dance as a kid I'd been taught to move incorrectly!)
- Taking some acting classes -- I've wanted to act since I was about 6. I don't know why it took me 2 decades to get started, but I finally did.
And I absolutely LOVE it. I hope to be on Star
Trek one day. :)
- Speaking of Star Trek - I'm having a
costume party for the premier episode of Enterprise. Wed, 26 Sept,
2001. RSVP if you plan to come, and come dressed as your favorite Star
Trek species (from any series). Intergalactic refreshments will be
provided (although if you have any recipes, I'd love it if you'd share them
with me!)
