Solution

To find the x-intercept, set y = 0 and solve for x.

 

 -2x + ( 1/2 )( 0 ) = -3
 -2x + 0 = -3
 -2x = -3
 x = -3/( -2 )
 x = 3/2

  

To find the y-intercept, set x = 0 and solve for y.

 

 -2( 0 ) + ( 1/2 )y = -3
 0 + ( 1/2 )y = -3
 ( 1/2 )y = -3
 y = -3/( 1/2 )
 y = -6

  

Therefore, the x-intercept is ( 3/2, 0 ) and the y-intercept
is ( 0, -6 ).
